What is PBS?
The National Heavy Vehicle Register’s (NHVR) Performance-Based Standards (PBS) Scheme was established in 2007 as a way to offer the heavy vehicle industry potential to achieve higher productivity and safety through innovative and optimised vehicle design.

The 16 PBS Safety Standards and 4 Infrastructure Standards
Our PBS trailers are tested against 16 stringent safety standards and four infrastructure standards set by the NHVR to ensure they are safe and fit within the existing road network. When purchasing a new Sloanebuilt PBS combination, we will guide you through the entire process of getting your combination on the road.
NHVR Route Planner
The NHVR has developed a route planner to assist drivers with planning routes for their heavy vehicles. An interactive online mapping tool, the journey planner displays and maps out approved routes for use by heavy vehicles.
